In March, my friend Volodiya helped me bring trauma surgery supplies from Poland into Ukraine. These supplies, enough for 100 surgeries, were given to the military hospital in Kyiv Pechersk when the Russian invasion brought much fighting near Kyiv. Now, Volodiya is fighting at the front in the east. Last week, I brought helmets and goggles in my luggage to Ukraine. Volodiya and his teammate are now better protected during combat. These guys are heroes.
